A high flow/shear mixer in 316 grade stainless steel can make a valuable addition to many of our vessels, to increase their versatility further. It is ideal for rapidly introducing and dispersing starches or powders to liquids, via high flow stage. A further stage allows shearing or solubilising and homogenising.

Description

General Uses

The High Flow/Shear Mixer has been designed for the following mixing operations using mixtures which possess full or partial flow properties:

  1. BLENDING

  2. DISPERSING

  3. EMULSIFYING

  4. SUSPENDING

  5. HOMOGENISING

  6. SOLUBILISING

  7. GELLING

  8. DISINTEGRATING


Mixtures of high viscosity are within scope of the disperser, a modified version is supplied for this purpose.

Flow Patterns


The following sketches display the flow patterns obtainable from using a high/flow shear mixer.

 

POSITION 1
For dumping in powders

Cavitational flow pattern with mixer impellor reversed direction creating a VORTEX into which powders can easily be mixed into liquids on high speeds.

 




POSITION 2

For mixing

Conventional flow pattern with mixer impellor in forward direction using raised deflector plate.
